Office Hours and Scheduling Information

For our office to better assist you, please schedule apointments on-line whenever possible. For general questions, please send a secure email through the portal.

WHAT IS THE PORTAL?

You will notice in upper right hand corner of this page, a link called "Patient Log-In." That link takes registered patients to an on-line portal. Any patient of Fairmount Pediatrics may register to receive a password; just send a note via the Contact Page to request a password. Once you have your password, you can log in and use the portal to schedule appointments, send secure messages, request referrals and request prescription refills.

WHAT ARE SECURE MESSAGES?

Because of HIPPA privacy laws, it is not permissable for a doctor to respond to an email message from a patient. Anyone could hack in and find out your personal health information. However, you can send Dr. Lieberman messages! Through the portal, you log into a secure server and leave messages there for Dr. Lieberman to find. She logs in several times a day, and responds, leaving her responses on the secure server. The server then automatically sends you an email, through yahoo or gmail or whatever email server you use, directing you to log in to get your response. Please do not send emergency messages via the portal, as Dr. Lieberman only checks it a few times a day. Emergencies should be handled by phone, please. Please note that messaging services are only for registered patients who receive their pediatric care at Fairmount Pediatrics.

IS IT OK TO CALL?

Yes, it is ok to call. Please always call for emergencies, unless you are sure you need to go to the Emergency Room of a hospital. If you know you need to go to the ER, you do not need permission from Dr. Lieberman. Do what you think is right for your child, right away, and let her know later. Please try limit non-emegency calls to regular work hours. Please note that phone services are only for registered patients who receive their pediatric care at Fairmount Pediatrics.

HOW DO I GET AN APPOINTMENT?

You can log onto the portal and schedule. Please schedule 15 or 30 minutes for well visits based on how much time you think you need, and 15 minutes for most sick visits. If a child has been sick with a problem for over a month, you will need 30 minutes for that sick visit as well. The portal is quirky, and can only make 15 minute visits. So, if you need 30 minutes, please schedule two in a row.

WHAT ABOUT SICK VISITS?

We hold back time every day for sick visits. So, if you look at the schedule right now, for this coming Friday, it probably looks completely booked. But it's not. About 90 minutes are blocked, and will be opened Thursday evening, to allow sick kids to get in the same day. Every day is treated in this way. Since the patients control the schedule, we are relying on you to do the following: IF THERE ARE ONLY A FEW SPOTS LEFT IN A DAY (4-5 in spring and summer, 6-8 in fall and winter), PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A SAME-DAY APPOINTMENT UNLESS YOUR CHILD IS SICK. Please leave those last few spots for a sick kids. Now, if your child is sick, those spots are there for you, so do take them! And, if there are lots and lots of openings, feel free to make a same-day well appointment.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME IN WITH MY CHILD?

I NEED A SICK APPOINTMENT FOR MY CHILD, BUT MY CHILD GOES TO A DIFFERENT PEDIATRICIAN FOR WELL-CARE.

Please schedule the sick appointment with that pediatrician, rather than at Fairmount Pediatrics. This ensures the best continuity of care for your child. If you wish to transfer all care to Fairmount Pediatrics, please contact the office to arrange a "meet and greet" visit or to obtain a log-in and register as a patient.

  • Wednesday: Office closed, physician on-call
  • Thursday: 9:15am - 5:00 pm
  • Friday: 8:15 am - 4:30 pm
  • Saturday / Sunday: Once a month hours for well-visits, please check on-line. Urgent sick visits on an as needed basis.

If you are unable to keep an appointment you have made, we ask that youcancel at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer that time to someone else. Appointments missed without 24 hours advance notice incur a $25 charge.
